Hi, I was able to change the color of the yellow highlight bar using hx workshop, but can I change the yellow notepad?
March 19, 2005 at 2:38 am #115417SportsDude3479MemberGuess no one can help me! :crying:
March 19, 2005 at 3:51 am #115414Ithaca1937MemberYou can change the yellow away message notepad color by using ResHack.
The notepad is a bitmap, 12 pixels by 12 pixels, located in the Aimres.dll at BITMAP -> 200 -> 1033. You can use Paint to make it whatever color you want or something completely different.

Thank you very much!make sure aim is not running when you do any of this…open reshack and find that bitmap in the AimRes.dll file, save it to your harddrive somewhere. let’s say you name it Away.bmp…. then you open up Microsoft Paint, open that image, use the paint bucket tool to change the yellow to whatever color you want. now save the bmp again, you might want to make it a different filename so you still have the original.
so now you have Away_new.bmp. open up reshack again, go to that bitmap, right click and say replace with. (i forget what the actual menu entry says, but something about replacing the pic) find your new picture Away_new.bmp and swap it in.
save the aimres.dll file and you’re done.
August 2, 2005 at 8:33 pm #115419STLCards002Memberafter exiting aim, before doing any editing find aimres.dll and change it to something like aimres_original.dll. then open reshacker and edit aimres_original.dll. after you get the away message the color you want (make sure to leave the background pink like it was originally) save it as aimres.dll. now you can always return to the original by changing or deleting aimres.dll and change aimres_original.dll back to aimres.dll

Everytime you save the file you’re working on in ResHack, it saves a copy of the file as it was just prior to the save as filename_original.extensionhowever, AimRes_orig.dll would be fine.

August 11, 2005 at 2:35 am #115415RustyMemberI accidentally ****ed up my computer when I did that. Do you need to see an image: http://www.imagerage.com/picture/9So27365.jpg I was wondering if there is anyway to delete like 500 icons off my desktop easily because it tries to delete my icons that I normally have on it when I select some.
Edit: My Dumbass Self already got it fixed…
