ParticipantIn MSN Messenger conversation window, click on the backrounds button located just above where you write your message. Then choose the one you had before it.

You should try to be more specific about what you are refering to. I imagine you are refering to uninstalling a “skin”. To revert back to your original messenger you will need to re-install the official version from http://messenger.msn.com.

ParticipantI don’t understand what you guys are talking about. MSN Messenger 6+ doesn’t allow you change the lvback.gif image, so how did you “skin” messenger?

KeymasterI think he must have downloaded Messenger X or another skin. I currently use Mesenger X or I think that’s how it’s called and it brings several skins in it. I don’t know about single skins but in this Messenger X you go to control panel, add/remove programs, and click on Change or Repair and then you can pick another skin and apply it or you can pick the default MSN messenger theme. Just make sure you are exited out of MSN Messenger
Another thing, if you made subfolders in your start programs menu and you cut and paste MSN messenger into it, do not use that icon or it will stick with the previous skin. Use the icon put automatically in start programs menu after you repair it. Then you can move it.

Yes it does, get a picture name it lvback.gif and plonk it in the MSN Messenger directory. Voila, your contact list background image has been changed/actually exists now :p.

I just tried it, and it seems to work now. I could have sworn it never worked when I tried to replace it on 6.1, unless it has to be a certin dimention. I tried using an image 320×240 and it doesn’t work.

MemberIt also fails to show if your system application background colour is set to anything other than white, if I recall correctly.
