I’ve searched these boards and Google already but I’m wondering how might I change the font, size and color of the screen names in IM windows.
Whether it must be changed using the Registry or ResHacker, I am capable of doing it. I am running AIM 5.2.3292 (I like simplicity) with DeadAIM 4.5 (more simplicity) on WindowsXP (SP2). I also like long walks on the beach while holding hands (not that that might help in this situation, but it’s Valentine’s Day).
I don’t have deadAIM or reshacker, but I’m pretty sure there’s no way to change the name, because it matches the text. You can try Overwriting text, which makes the text the exact same as yours.
Sorry, but I’m going to need a more coherent answer. Perhaps I should be more specific which I already thought I was. But here goes:
In an AIM Instant Message, my screen name is the color red and the font Times New Roman. I would much rather have it be green and Arial. Not really digging the Times New Roman.
I know this is possible with ResHacker, but any results found on Google only show people who have done it and has not said how they pulled it off.
Blargh. Message boards should use Google style search methods as this question had to have been answered here before.
Press “F3”
Go to “font”
try there.
I believe that what Wilson is referring to is your and your buddy’s screen names within the IM window. As in this example…
Your name: Hello
Buddy name: Hi there
and I think the desired outcome would be something like…
Your name: Hello
Buddy name: Hi there
I just started using ResHack three days ago so I don’t Know if it can be done with ResHack or not. In my searching I’ve seen some say that you have to edit the icbmui.ocm with a Hex editor.
search the winmod forums
Google “winmod”
