does anyone know of other chat filters besides pyboticide? i really like the concept of pyboticide but its such a pain to use. if they could integrate it into aim than that would be great. i wouldnt have to open my ignore.txt each time i wanted to ignore someone, or make a new rule. but anyway you guys know of anything?
Ah, I know, I would agree that I would use it more also if it integrated into AIM. But, you dont have to add someone to ignore everytime you see them. At the site, theres a rule tutorial or readme that explains this. You can block everything from a word in a message to the base of a screename if you take the time to figure out how.
yea.. i dont really know what rules to use until i start going into chats and seeing which bots are doing what.
A few updates to PyBoticide have been made recently f0rbez. Currently another programmer made a few update files to replace for easier use within AIM itself like the ability to add ignore entries within the chatroom window. There really is not a filter like this that is a true add-on for AIM at the moment until someone programs it. All I can say is that this one acts like a localhost proxy much like you would use Proxomitron for web browsers. For this reason its not an AIM add-on so that any AIM client (AIM, TestBuddy, gaim, Trillian, etc.) can be used with it.

Once you are fully updated then you can use the FilterRules.txt I have.
