Friendship Week
[ 16th – 22nd February ]
As we all know that the friendship week just been, I collected some children’s views about their friends and friendship, it suggests that we can learn something from children!
What kids say about friendship:
1. What is the main problem in friendship?
Leaving someone out
2. How do you keep a friend?
Treat someone like you want to be treated
3. What is a good friend?
Somebody who you can depend on
4. What if your friend said they wouldn’t be your friend if you were another person’s friend?
That “friend” would not mind if she were really your friend.
What problems do friends have:
1. Friends don’t know how to say something without getting mad with each other.
The best way to solve this problem is to try not to say much that will get each other mad.
2. Friends don’t know exactly how to apologize after a fight.
First you start off telling each other that you’re sorry. Then you go from there.
3. Some friends don’t know how to keep secrets from becoming rumors.
The best way to keep secrets from becoming rumors is just don’t tell anyone if you don’t want it to become a rumor.
How to be a good friend:
• Treat your friends the way you want to be treated.
• Keep secrets that are told to you.
• Pay attention when your friend is talking.
• Keep your promises.
• Share things with your friend.
• Tell your friend the truth.
• Stick up for your friend.
• Take turns.

Sometimes we complicate things way too much. Kids have a simple but effective way at looking at life that usually cuts through all the normal “adult” BS. Good to remember! 😉
My Favourite phrase about friendship is:
“Make New Friends But Don’t Forget Old, Because New Is Silver And Old Is Gold”
