My mother has a rather large attic, and today she decided that she wanted all of us to go through all of our childhood boxes and pick out things to toss, sell, or keep. I think she’s been watching too much “Clean Sweep” but that’s just me.
Anyway, she brings down a bunch of stuff, and my brother, sister and I are going through it. Not only does mother find some toys she was going to give us for easter 10 years ago and forgot to, but a bunch of other cool stuff. Check it out.
*By the way, my brother got a bugs bunny that shot a carrot, my sister got bubbles and I got a sailor moon compact that sings her transfomation song (I was PSYCHED)*
I found this ghettolicious pimp black fur coat, and this really horrid, loud purple dress with black ruffles under it, a black stretchy belt. Oh, and there’s my killer Sailor Moon Locket cerca 1995*MOON PRISM POWER!*
My brother, Nate wearing his old cub scout shirt, my girl scout barret and these fake plastic lips he found.
Whitney found some of my old suspenders. They say that they come back every 20 years or so…I think she looks groovy (She said they were giving her a wedgie)
Nate once again found his cub scout uniform, my barret and his “Arrow Of Light” Certificate. That’s his “Dangerous ghetto” look.
Whitney playing with her bubble pipe and two of the three colapsable sabers my brother and I found. We were fighting my mother with them earlier until we hit one of the (many) cages and the birds freaked out *hehehe*Random, yes. Funny, yes. Seemed like it was something to say. Who doesn’t like cleaning out their attic?October 6, 2004 at 4:10 am #37140SpikeMember(Right Click > Save Picture As…) Ahem…anyway, yeah, we don’t really have an attic, well we do, but the floor isn’t filed in, it just has a lot of pink stuff around it (insulator)…But we do have a crawl space, and there’s a lot of old junk in there….We need to go clean out in there…So thanks for the reminder! 🙂
October 6, 2004 at 4:28 am #37121OreoMemberIt’s called INSULATION…
Sam….you have outdone yourself! I was just about to hit the hay…then I read this post…now I’m laughing too hard and I’m afraid to go to sleep….maybe it was the purple dress…but I think it was the image of the bubble pipe. 😉 Thanks for keeping things so DAMN funny around here!
October 6, 2004 at 5:02 am #37131Dr KimbleParticipantHeh, that’s great. Your family is really awsome RK! It looks like you had a ton of fun. We have “clean outs” occasionally as well. My dad lives to find old junk and have a garage sale. We used to have one every weekend at my Grandma’s neighborhood, but she moved to an apartment complex, so we just pile up the junk now…or worse throw it away! You inspired me…I ventured into the attic recently and brought this stuff down:
My new *cough extrememly old cough* tv (check out the rabbit ears):
This one is for DJ, here is my plush Scrooge McDuck:
Hey RK, your sis looks a little bit like me. Maybe we are related :0)
Also, one question, what’s the “Arrow of Light?”October 6, 2004 at 5:17 am #37126RabidKittenParticipant*giggles* Thanks for the compliments, Elisa and Kimble. Hey, just trying to do my job around here *cleans her nails arrogantly* You know, keepin’ it real, yo! w0rd even. Heheh, I’m glad you guys enjoyed the pictures.
Yeah, my family is pretty great. My sister pranced in just a few minutes ago and posed for this little pearl
And yeah, now that you mention it, Kimble, she does kinda look like you! *tackle* My long lost sister! *cries a river and a quarter*
Heheh, but yeah they are really great. My brother’s posed for some infamous pictures too.
and of course, who could forget my brother’s frail ego booster.
Heheh, some of my favorites. (and yes, he used to be blonde. He tried bleaching it after he dyed it black and it turned orange, then blonde, now it’s dyed brown) Best part is, my brother does stuff like that all the time. I’d post the one of him in a red man-thong if I wasn’t afraid of being scolded, hehehe. Red, satin man-thong. It was -hillerious-.I used to have a TV like that! When I first moved out of my mothers that was my tv, bunny ears and all! And who doesn’t like that classic Scrooge plushie *thumbs up* I have a donald duck piggy bank, but Scrooge outranks him by at least 3 fold.
Edit: Oh, and the arrow of light is some sort of certificate they get in the boyscouts. I think its so they can go from cub scouts to weeblos or something… *shrug* We couldn’t find a girl scout handbook so he just held that up, heheh. The barret is my favorite part.
October 6, 2004 at 5:54 am #37118Jeff HesterKeymaster2 funny…..
Hears one for you..
4 years ago my Dad passed away from asbestosis related illness.
During this time of Dads illness – might I add he was originally given 6 months but lasted 3 years. My Mum had her thoughts return to her about her own family after many years of looking for information as to her paternal parents etc.
My Mum was adopted out when her Paternal Father had passed away and her Mother couldn’t cope. In 1956 My mum arrived in Aussie from the UK and settled in Sydney, later to move to Cooma ( snowy mnts) where she meet my Dad.
Later on as I was growing up I always rememebered my Mum “looking” for information as to her Family and her disappointment at the redtape that surrounded adoption laws back then. However I had feelings that Mum was looking for something she could never find.
On Dads death and as a result of the court case and policies that Dad had Mum came into a great deal of money. Mum suffered thru Dads slow death and now the time had come that Mum , also neededing a break decided that it was time to look for her Family. She packed her Bags and headed for the UK.
Within 2 Months ( adoption laws now relaxed) found her Paternal Parents graves, although they were only numbers on a plot. Mum arranged for headstones to be erected .
She then found out the information as to the orphanage and searched the records with the assistance of a Staff memeber , which turned out to be a dorm mate in the ophanage with Mum.
Over the next Month, Mum travelled thoughout the UK for information she found Uncles and Aunts she never new, that didnt even know of her existance ( and I thought I had it rough as a child!).
It was on a return to Coventry Mum came across a street that must of triggered some lost memory. Mum being the stubborn pommy that she is walked up the street and came across a house that she remembered. Also being a pommy she tends to talk alot too – Mum knocked on this door as was greated by a old lady ( in her 90s im told). Mum introduced herself and they got talking and was invited in. As it turned out the old lady was mums old neighbour when mum was born in the house and remembered her Maiden name.
The old lady pulled out some boxes that was stored in her attic that actually belonged to my Mums paternal Mother?Father and contained letters and photos of Mum as a baby and her Family. Needless to say my Mum was overjoyed.
But theres more………..
Mum found out she had a sister and on her return to Aussie found out more information , that her Sister was alive and living in would you believe it!! the same City.
So Mum and her are now getting to know each other and want started out as a tragic death has renewed my mother and she is a lot happier because of it.
October 6, 2004 at 12:36 pm #37144sarahtownyMemberWhat a wonderful story, awwwwwwww really nice. I hope your mum and her sister can make lots of happy memories of there own. Good luck to them. 🙂

October 6, 2004 at 10:59 pm #37134AwesomeSauceParticipantLOL. Crazy-Penguin, I would look at the person’s NAME first, not their Avatar. If you would have done that, you would have realized that it’s ALLEYCAT, not Tigerblade.
EDIT: Tigerblade beat me to you.
Hmm.. what’s in my attic? probably just a bunch of pipes and crap like that (I’ve never been up there before). Prett-y cool.
October 6, 2004 at 11:09 pm #37137Crazy PenguinMember*Feels really really stupid*
