Hi everyone. Okay, I think everything’s fine, but I’m just posting to make sure. I received an IM from a person I didn’t know. They had one of those “look at my picture” messages. I didn’t really read the message, I just skimmed it and I saw something about how they wanted to check with me before they posted it. Now, my first thought was it was a member of one of my forums checking to make sure their picture was appropriate to post. Of course, afterward I realized it wasn’t someone from my forums. 😉 Anyway, when I clicked the link an installing box popped up, but I closed it before it could really do anything. So I’m guessing it didn’t install anything. Do you think I’m safe? My guess is there’s no harm done since I closed the installation before it had a chance to do anything, but I’m not sure. Any advice would be great. 🙂
Has anything weird happened since? Has anyone sent you a message that didn’t make sense (as it is a reply to your computer sending something without you knowing)?
You could try aimfix, I don’t know how recent it is, but I suppose it can’t hurt. Nor could an AV scan.
