As far as off topic, there are other sections of this forum for off topic posts… and funny things.
Just letting you know for the future… And thanks for sharing.~Sathallrin~
April 6, 2002 at 4:08 pm #68673Jeff HesterKeymasterYou definately need sound to appreciate that one.
I moved this topic to the “Laughing Out Loud” area.
And for what it’s worth? The sound of your tongue sticking out and flapping rapidly between your upper and lower lips? That’s knows as a “raspberry.”
10 bonus points to anyone who knows why!

BigBlueBall.com..BECAUSE THE TERM ‘GRAPEFRUIT’ IS ALREADY TAKEN!!!!!!
(actually i doubt it is…)I always thought a raspberry is when you put your mouth on somebody else’s (or your own) skin, and then blow as hard as you can to make the famous “distinguishing” gaseous sound…

Anna WojtowiczApril 7, 2002 at 6:01 am #68671Jeff HesterKeymasterGrapefruit! Yeah right. [:p
As for the sound, yeah you can make the sound that way, too. Same name though.
I’m still waiting for someone to explain why they’re called raspberries!

BigBlueBall.comApril 8, 2002 at 4:19 pm #68675rustedtightMemberPossibly theres a clue here: Source not recorded.
An infusion of Raspberry leaves, taken cold, is a reliable remedy for extreme laxity of the bowels. The infusion alone, or as a component part of injections, never fails to give immediate relief. It is useful in stomach complaints of children.
Ah the soft sounds of a relaxed raspberry.

April 8, 2002 at 6:05 pm #68674Jeff HesterKeymasterI don’t know if it’s true or not, but is sounds totally believable. Has all the right incredients: a smattering of science (medicine), formal terminology…. Ok…. 10 bonus points go to Rustedtight!
Congratulations, and use them wisely.
