Are you using your computer right now? I have a Dell Desktop computer and a few months ago after many years of use, I had the same problem, the computer would turn on and then it would just say stuck on the Dell screen before it ever booted. It turned out my harddrive crashed and I had to get a new one. This might be what has happened to you.
Sounds like the PC won’t boot from the Hard Drive. You could try inserting your Windows Installation CD (assuming you have one) and changing the boot sequence in the BIOS so that it checks the CD Drive first. Then, if it’s XP, you could do a repair install.
Its not the Hard disc because it responds and their would of been a hard drive detect error. It wont even let me hold the del key to get into the bios.
I’m not saying there’s a problem with the actual hard disk, it’s whats installed on it that might be the problem.
From what you’ve said, about it just staying on the syntax screen, it sounds like Windows is failing to boot, not the computer. You do hear a startup beep, don’t you?
Could you also post a photo please? Thanks.
found out the problem it was a USB Port that messed up and i got it working now and money gone down the drain just to get a new mainboard all for nothing
