I’m looking to buy good computer speakers (for music, movies, tv, and whatnot) that are also at a reasonable price (ie I don’t wanna get ripped off but I don’t have a price range yet…)
So does anyone know much about computer speakers or perhaps another forum that would? And would it be necessary to get speakers specifically designed for computers or could I get stereo speakers or wahtever and hook it up to my computer? I really do not know anything about speakers so please enlighten me. And any links to specific speakers would be helpful. and also pros and cons of certain brands?
Thanks

You need a cable that starts with a minijack plug (such as the one on most headphones) and ends with a double tulip connector (that’s what it’s called over here anyways).
I personally dislike computer speakers as they will never provide the same sound a good stereo set will. See those two big speakers here, on the left and right of the computers? Now that’s a setup that will provide you a brilliant sound. 🙂

Every pair of altec lansing speakers I have had have the best sound I have ever heard out of a computer speaker. Def go Altec Lansing, if you cant afford the highest end, then def go midrange…

i’d suggest not going with Creative unless you can somehow test them first with a few different songs. since I just took my stereo speakers home (getting close to moving out of the dorms), i’m reduced to using these little Creative speakers… not the greatest sound. and yeah i’ve used more than just this pair… just my opinion
