I dont know exaclty what everyone esle means when they say a complete system restore but you can do a repair installation of windows xp. If you have a name brand computer they usually have a restore cd and will installl everything the way it came from them thier software etc.. but nothing else not any programs you installed or anything you downloaded etc.. If you have a name brand computer the instructions should be somewhere or look on their site for the instructions.
Like I said no matter what you do backup all the stuff you do not want to loose before you do any of these.
