MemberI’m having a connection problem. I have a router connected to my computer and Playstation 2 (for online play). Lets say I get done playing Playstation 2 online at 8:00 PM on Monday, well 8:00 PM Tuesday (if I haven’t played) my internet connection will be lost. Any solutions? Thank you!
Edit by Tigerblade: I’ve moved this to the Computer Support forum, where you’ll be more likely to find a solution than in the AIM Support forum.

MemberSo what you’re saying is that after 24 hours, your internet connection just…dies?
Could you also provide what kind of router you have, and what internet you subscribe to, as well. Thnaks 🙂

MemberSeems fairly strange…although the first thing that popped into my mind was that it could be something to do with your ISP cutting you off because you’ve not used the connection for a certain amount of time…idle time?

MemberYea pretty much. It doesn’t die for a long time, just 2 or 3 seconds, and then a little bubble thing will show from the taskbar saying “Local Area Connection 2 connected” or something like that. And when i go Start>Run>Cmd>Ipconfig/all and look at the information it shows something towards the bottom saying Lease obtained (which is the time I get done playing online) and then Lease expires (24 hours later). That might help.
Somebody has told me to try this but I don’t know:
View system properties
Click on the Hardware tab
Click on Device Manager
Expand Network Adapters
Double click on your network connection
Click on the Power Managment tab
Uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
Click Ok.LINKSYS BEFSR41, InsightBB

MemberIs the entire network having problems, or is it JUST the PS2?

MemberIf you mean by network everything that is connected to the router then no. Just my actually computer internet connection is not working the way I want, but it is not working the way I want b/c of the PS2. THE PS2 works fine, but like I said when I turn it off and do Start>Run>Cmd>Ipconfig/all and look at the information it shows something towards the bottom saying Lease obtained (which is the time I get done playing PS 2online) and then Lease expires (24 hours later).
