MemberSame here. It just started recently, but it happens all the time. It signs me off and then won’t let me reconnect unless I exit out of messenger completely and then open it again.

MemberThis seems to be a problem on MSN’s side – something we can’t fix. A QFE (Quick Fix Engineering) Patch – a patch to update MSN Messenger with – is rumoured to be in the works to fix the issue.

MemberExactly – or… well, as far as I know anyway, there’s no fix consumers can apply or a workaround consumers can perform in order to fix this issue.

MemberI have been having the same problem… and I think I’ve found a solution….
download and install the previous version of msn messenger…
seem that since I installed the update from 7.5.0306 to 7.5.0311 I was having this problem. SO far since I’ve set it back there hasn’t beena problem…
you can find an older version of msn here…
http://www.filehippo.com/download_msn_messenger/?413
this will work untill microsloth gets off there asses to fix the problem

From Mess.be:
If you thought the current MSN Messenger 7.5.0311 was the final version of MSN Messenger *ever*, you’re probably wrong. We heard through the grapevine that sometime late November or early December a QFE patch will be tested and released, fixing mainly sign in issues (QFE stands for Quick Fix Engineering, which means upgrading through a small patch instead of a 10mb setup file). This is good news for the unlucky ones recently experiencing sudden connection losses and ongoing log on failures.November 18, 2005 at 11:29 pm #133436LLXerxes
MemberIt’s a nuisense constantly disconnecting, and I expect nothing less from Windows. Seph, I doubt they will fix it just use it as a reason to get Windows Live or something. When it “tries” to log back on it tells me I can’t when in reality it did autosign on with the password field left blank…

MemberI have 6.2 version and I have the same problem. It disconnects but it connects back when I hit connect. I have blackice firewall the old version. I emailed msn and they replied back that I need to rebaseline firewall to fix this problem. Well I can’t rebaseline it cause I have the old version. Don’t know what to do either. I didn’t download it from Network blackice website. I download it from free firewall site, and that was about 5 years ago. Anyway, like i said i have the same problem too and don’t know what to do.

Memberok well i was gettin SOOO pissed off at this so i called the company that my adapter card is made by which is d-link and they said it was an ISP problem so i called Sympatico and they did a buncha stuff. The dlink guy said to change the channel on the router.. that didnt make a difference so the guy at sympatico made me retpye my WEP encryption security code in again and he changed the Encryption speed back to 128 mpb’s or whatever instead of 64. That was at like 1:00pm today and it havent been kicked off all day and i’m pretty sure it would have. AND my internet connected right away after he changed that stuff too. so maybe if you guys call you ISP’s they can help you….
