hi guys! i was on my Yahoo messenger last night and i guess someone from the chat room or gods knows from where sent me something ( a virus i guess ) then this IM window popped up with a funny symbol repeated on it… the next thing i knew was more and more IM windows kept popping up endlessly! i couldnt stop it so i just switched my pc off… later when i tried to login to the internet, as soon as i have my dial-up line up… my pc freezes…. cud any of you guys give me something to work on here pls?
well the thing you said about many windows popping out maybe someone trying to boot you out… or it may be the bug in Y! mess 5.6… it does happen in 5.6 that messages pop up in diffrent windows… so… maybe thats the problem… also, if you doubt any virus then I dont think it is possible to get a virus without downloading any file from the person… anyways you can just do a virus scan and check for viruses and trojans….

If you were able to scroll down to the bottom of the message you would have seen Mothership 3.0 ( or the name of another boot program)
You may want to invest in Y!Tunnel or Stayalive2002 ( or any other boot prevention progy)
Also there is a very helpfull page for removing boot floods, ( nasty boot codes that crash you when attempting to connect to Yahoo, you have boot code in your offline messages)

click ignore on the first one that pops up if it goes away its just a one account booter if it keeps comming its something like mothership…………….but you can just got privacy and change it to except IMs from freind only..its not a virus or a glitch in yahoo it is most defenetly some one booting you….

Yeah Right regardless of what people do they will never be able to stop popups it will just get worse as time goes on. You people really should use another pc for browsing and searching the net that way you have a good pc for yahoo messenger.
