One of my biggest annoyances using Messenger is my cursor moving to an unsolicited PM window whenever one pops up, usually sent by a bot or by someone in a room. Is there a way around this, or can Dermot or someone else possibly fix this in a patch? Thanks.

Messenger > Preferences > Messages
Then at the top where you see When I receive a new message select
the radio box that says Minimize the message window to the taskbarThis will stop the new pm from taking the focus of the window you are using.
It will also stay minimized in the taskbar until you select it.September 29, 2006 at 10:15 pm #152887mfenechMemberThanks Tim…
That option only applies to messages from those on your friends list, and I’ve been using it already for years.

accept pm’s from people that are in your buddy list. There is no way to patch
what you are asking that I know of. You would have to have the source code
to Yahoo Messenger 8.0 and change it there. I don’t believe Yahoo Messenger
is an open source program so the chances of actually finding the source code
is very slim. Also you would have to know C and/or C++ to make the changes.October 2, 2006 at 6:15 am #152884DermotParticipantthere are a few things you can do mfenech,
1. make all none friends pm’s go to show messages in a single window under preferences>>messages using the option provided by tim above.
2. You can go to preferences >> messages >> pressin enter in a message will, inserts a new line in the message”, this will act as a message carraige and stop you accidently pressing enter old ICQ style.
3. Go to preferences >> General and make sure yahoo is not set to be on top of other applications.
