MemberAlright well I just got a new MP3 player and it only supports MP3 and WMA files. When I save my cd tracks to my computer it saves them as “RMJ” and when I try to load them to my MP3 player they dont even show up so I was wondering if you guys knew a way I could convert the RMJ files to either MP3 or WMA so my player can read them. Thanks

ParticipantYou should be able to use dBpowerAMP Music Convertor
dBpowerAMP can decode audio from .rmj files, but it can’t detect the file extension. So to do the conversion you will have to rename the extension to a RealAudio file type that dbPowerAMP can detect.
In other words, if you have a .rmj file format, simply rename the .rmj extension to either .rm or .ra
After you rename it, dbPowerAmp will do a wonderful conversion to whatever format you want. 😀

MemberOh thank you so much but how do I rename the .rmj extension to the .rm or .ra?
December 29, 2003 at 6:47 am #51891shifter
ParticipantJust right click the file and choose ‘rename’.
If you cannot see the extension when you rename, then open up Windows Explorer and go to Tools > Folder Options > View > Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types.

ParticipantIf you want to save yourself a few steps in the future, you can Rip mp3’s or wav’s directly from your CD’s using software like Audiograbber AND dBpowerAMP (of course! Thanks DJ :o)

MemberHint: dbPowerAMP can also rip CD’s. 🙂

MemberI renamed all of my files that I saved from my cd’s to my computer with the .RM at the end of them and when I open the file converter it doesnt reconize them as music or audio so I can convert them to MP3 or WAV…what did I do wrong…

ParticipantSorry, you’ll have to install the Real Audio Codec as well, download it here. After installing this it should work for you( I just tested it on a .rmj file changed to .ra and it converted fine). You can even just right-click the file you want to convert and select ‘convert to’ from the top of the list.
