Hello everyone,
Does anybody know how to completely hide the online/offline status on Yahoo! Messenger? Lately, whenever I log in Y!M, a person (who I strongly dislike) immediately sends me a greeting, even though I’m in the invisible mode. That’s very frustrating. Is there something like counter buddy spy?

As far as I know, there is no “anti-spybuddy” software out in the market. The simplest but sure thing that will help you is the “Ignore” option as williamlee suggested.
I have a “friend” like that too, Fre2.
He somewhat annoyingly just IMs “hello Ian” whenever he sees me login. I can’t really complain about that – but I DO therefore quite often stealth him so I’m invisible.
But sometimes even then I get occasional “hello”s from him! Well, it COULD be he just sends them even though he thinks I’m offline, but it could also be he’s “spying”.
Well, either way, I refuse to respond to such things – and IF he ever asks why, I’ll counter by asking HIM why he dares SPY on his friends and not respect their right to privacy. 😡Thank you. It’s bad to know that there’s no anti-spy software. I’ll add him to my Ignore list. And I’ll use Eagle’s way to counter him.
not so sure about this but whenever i enable “firewall with no proxies” option buddy spy shows me offline, tried this couple of times and worked for me. go ahead and give it a try, see if it works 😮

Anyone can correct me if i’m wrong.
I think that’s dead right, Hated.
ONE option in particular is “voice” – I think if you’re set to “Firewall with No Proxies” then YM seems to think you don’t have voice (so for instance in a Voice Chat you will see icons for Webcam, SendFile, and Conference, but NO VOICE icon.)
The only solution to THAT that I’ve found is to change back to simply “No Proxies”.However, I did find today to my great surprise that although “voice” may be unavailable when the “firewall” setting is on, one CAN still use the “Call” function, with voice and all !
