Hello,
Since CrackSoft was experiencing hosting as well as domain problems so its hosting and domain has been changed.
The new website address is http://www.cracksoft.netFebruary 4, 2005 at 9:51 pm #113638HasanMemberAnd now CrackSoft has been permanently shutdown.
February 4, 2005 at 10:28 pm #113634DJHyperbyteMemberWhat happened Hasan? Why is this?

Cracksoft was the developing power behind Gilly Messenger and some other software as well.February 6, 2005 at 6:47 pm #113637Someguy03MemberYes, I was serious. But I have heard of Gilly Messenger though.
February 7, 2005 at 7:10 am #113639HasanMemberI’m sorry for replying late DJHyperbyte as I was travelling and I couldnt get online.
Basically I’ve shutdown CrackSoft because:-1. Ever since I started CrackSoft I haven’t been able to learn new stuff as I never got time. I’ve always been busy updating the softwares I made in my free time so my programming or perhaps algorithms were not improving.
2. I had plenty of issues with previous domain and hosting which I’ve been trying to resolve for about one and a half year but then I had no other option than to switch to new domain and hosting which I thought would solve my problem but again either I wouldnt get complete access to all the options in my hosting or they were not available at all.
3. I got 25 GB of bandwidth with the new hosting and I foundout that I’ve consumed 1.5 GB in 2 days so that would be a problem once again and I couldnt afford the higher bandwidth plan offered by my webhost.
4. I have a slow dialup connection and only one telephone line at my home so when I have to upload 3-4 MB software on my site it takes me around an hour and after 45 mins or so I find out the connection has been reset from remote side, the dialup is disconnected, blah blah blah and then I’d connect again and try to upload where my home phone line would remain busy and I’d waste plenty of my time uploading the softwares as I updated almost DAILY because of the bugs I discovered in it or the features I had to add due to user requests. Btw I’ve applied for a new phone line since september last year and I’ve even got a high priority letter from the IT Ministery but no avail.
5. I got the website designed and developed in August 2002 and since then it was not updated as I didnt have a web/graphic designer
6. I monitored the hits on the news page pulled by Gilly Messenger and I found out its use is dicreasing with time mainly because of MSN Messenger 7, StuffPlugNG 2 and MSN Plus.
7. To update my Softwares with latest protocol I’d need plenty of time, good internet connection and mental stabality which unfortunately I dont have for the past one year so it was dead hard for me to carry on with the site.
8. The revenue generated by google ads and NavExcel tool bar was not even enough to pay my phone bill.
9. I had a total of 2 moderators for my forums out of which one has been unavailable for a long time and the second one has been idle for quite some time as the forums are dead themselves.
10. By shutting down this website; I hope I’ll be able to improve my performance in studies as it has put me in tension for quite a long time.
CrackSoft would die within few months itself so it was better to close it now than seeing it end the other way.
March 26, 2005 at 1:20 am #113643armwareParticipantAny chance of releasing the source code?
March 26, 2005 at 5:11 pm #113640HasanMemberThe code is so ugly you’ll probably freak out when you read it.
So I’d rather opt to keep my reputation 😉March 27, 2005 at 5:40 am #113644armwareParticipantBummer. If you change your mind, please let me know. There is a couple of things I wanted to change, if you could just think about these that’s all I can ask from a discontinued project.
For one I wanted it to remember and associate the sign-in status with the login name. I like to sign in Online with one account and Appear Offline with another and it’s always changing to whichever one I did last.
The other thing was a right click menu for the display picture allowing me to save it.
Believe it or not, these are the only two things I can think of. I tend to want to change a lot about the way programs work, but Gilly Messenger pretty much nailed all me needs down perfectly.
As for the ugly code… it may be ugly but it works flawlessly, and that’s what counts. Thank you very much for your time and good luck with any/all of your future projects.March 27, 2005 at 3:26 pm #113641HasanMemberarmware I’ve implemented the changes you’ve requested and uploaded the updated version i.e 3.0.56
I request the moderators to kindly lock this and Gilly Messenger (beta) thread.
