Is there any way you can change the colors of the user names IM windows in Pidgin? I know it’s just a minor thing, but it’s the one thing in Pidgin I wish I could change. Otherwise, it’s a great IM client. I’ve looked everywhere online, and I know you can edit the gckrc 2.0 file, but I haven’t seen any kind of tutorial on how to do that, esp. not for what I’m looking for.
Any help would be appreciated! 🙂

i asked around #pidgin on freenode after fiddling though the source code. many said that it was not possible.
it seems the only way you can change the screen name color if you edit gtkconv.c and recompile gaim/pidgin. i haven’t tried it. others have recommended the same: left.subtree.org » Customizing Gaim Chat Windows

Thanks for the reply. 🙂 If I knew more about that sort of thing, I might try re-compiling. But I’m not that brave. hehe
