ParticipantIs there a program similar to DeadAIM, but for MSN Messenger? Particularly the tabbed window interface, so i dont have 6 different MSN conversation windows cluttering my screen… I already have Messenger Plus, but it doesnt have anything like tabbed windows. Anyone know of a program that will do that?
ps: i’m in the process of going through the links in the MSN Link section to find something appropriate, so if the answer is in there somewhere, just point me to the right one please.

ParticipantWell, I don’t know of any actual add-ons for MSN, but you can try out GAIM which is an interoperable client that allows tabbed conversations. I have also heard that dMSN also allows for tabbed chats. I have not used either program myself, so I cannot vouch for how well they actually work, but you can give em a try if you like.

EDIT: i went to the dMSN site from the link you gave me, here’s the information it gave:
“This program allows you to see when someone closes a chat conversation window. It also allows you to be online with several MSN addresses at the same time, login under any status you want, use forbidden words in your screen name, see when someone blocks you or deletes you from their contact list, and send screen shots. It also provides worm and virus protection and a real time translator. You can also see smileys and colors in your contact list. “
if that helps anyone else out, go for it, but apparently it doesnt have what i’m looking for. thanks anyway shifter…

ParticipantActually, although it doesn’t mention the feature on the site, it does do tabbed chats. I just downloaded it (a whopping 14MB!) to check it out. Its a memory hog (33MB of RAM used on my system compared to 6MB used by MSN Msg 6), but it does tabs. Heres a screenshot so you can see if its what your looking for.

yeah i wouldnt really mind the “ugly interface,” but its the memory that i dont know if i want to lose to the program. i have plenty of RAM (512 MB), but since i’ll be having my computer on for a long time every day, and having a lot of other stuff running…
shifter – what’s your personal impression of the program? is it worth downloading? since i dont really have that many people on my msn list (i mainly use AIM), i dont know if i really need it… -
