I know in Ohio everyone must be wearing a seatbelt, I don’t think the driver gets ticketed for every non-seatbelted person though. Each person is at their own risk. They also have crazy carseat regulations. Like if you are 80 lbs or under you must be in a carseat, I mean come on…heh. Maybe they did that because of all the fat kids :p

The answer could be yes if the action, decided by society, is against values which is then put into law. You are then a criminal. I had somewhat of the same question once and that’s what we were told. I hope it helps.

She wouldn’t argue the fact that even doing nothing is still doing something, and truthfully I couldn’t care enough for 1 mark to argue it any more so, 1 night sleep is enough to loose.
Anyway, thanks for your inputs 🙂

I know this has been done to death but I figured one more wouldn’t hurt. First I want to say I agree with your answer and felt you were justified to argue your point.
Thinking outside the box.The act of doing nothing is indeed doing something.
most of what was suggested as doing nothing was in all reality doing something. That something was ignoring// Although ignoring the law is not a physical act, you still have to DO IT <—-key word here is DO
DO = “something being done”.
If I understand the point you made and I am sure i do. By doing nothing you did something by ignoring.April 15, 2006 at 5:37 am #141832OreoMemberPerhaps the question was also meant to get you thinking and reasoning….but of course a teacher would NEVER ask a question that was meant for anyone to do that….:D You may have thought it was a “stupid”question but look at all of the discussion and reasoning we’ve all done about it…it’s actually quite a good one. 🙂

but in all honesty, if a teacher wanted a thought-out response to a question like this, it should have been an essay question, not a T/F question. if you can argue convincingly enough that grass is pink and not green, then i’d be willing to give you credit, so long as i can tell you put a great deal of thought and time into it.
