Hi,
I have two programs of deny a buddy one from trolling around and one from shifters site. Shifters I just got , but I’ve had the trolling around one. Anyway , the trolling around one used to work , but when I tried them both today both say I’m ” not connected” can anyone tell me why?
July 11, 2004 at 2:43 pm #76300OreoMemberIt could be that Yahoo! have changed their protocols again. You have to understand…as has been stated on other threads in the forum (try search and you’ll finds tons of discussions on this…probably more than you thought possible! :)) these are not services that Yahoo! provides. These are services that nice, cool people who know what Yahoo! is lacking create to improve the general Yahoo! public’s use of the service. Because Yahoo! may not see it that way or be able to discern who’s being helpful and who’s being harmful, they just try to block all things that are not from Yahoo!. Be patient and they’ll be a work around and the services will work again.

I went to chat help forum and found that another person had made another one and I used it and it worked. He actually improved on his last program and that could be why it didn’t work . And I do searches, when I find my questions aren’t answered I post it .
but thank you for responding .
July 11, 2004 at 10:03 pm #76303UnSaKreDMemberThere are two ways of doing Deny A Buddy,
One is via HTTP method, chat.yahoo.com/c/nobuddy.html
And the other is YMSG protocol (Yahoo messegner Protocol)
As of two weeks ago, Yahoo Implimented version 12 of their YMSG protocol.
So primarily all programs based off YMSG 11 are not working correctly.
Although, I dont think you should worry to much, generally when this happenes a new release will be made as soon as the author has time to update it accordingly

But thank you for trying to help me , I sure do appreciate any response of helpfulness from anyone.

December 16, 2004 at 3:20 am #76299Jeff HesterKeymasterYet another example of the Yahoo! messenger security team not doing a good security job. Imagine allowing malicious users to keep your name on list…. shocking.
May 9, 2005 at 9:29 pm #76307DobrinMemberCan Deny Buddy be used for removing yourself from someone else’s ingnore list or is there any program that can do that ?
May 10, 2005 at 10:59 am #76301OreoMemberNO. And that would not be something that would be very nice. If some one has put some one else on ignore…there is a GOOD reason for it.
May 13, 2005 at 6:31 am #76306DermotParticipantI also have Built a deny buddy available here Welcome to Irish Gaming ! which uses YMSG12 and works.
