Is there a way to deny an invite for yahoo messenger without them knowing?
There might be, but you also have to keep in mind even if it does not give them
a popup box saying such and such has denied you to add them, they would still
see that your name was removed from their buddy list. Which also happens
when you deny someone. So they might not find out right then and there when
you first choose to deny them but like I said at some point they will see your
name is gone from their list. They could either give up, or they could just
keep trying to add you again.
If it is someone that you do not want to talk to simply put them on ignore.
You will no longer get any add requests from that person anymore.
Hi dc1995,
This all depends on which invite you speak of as yahoo have a few.
Most invites you can leave on your screen and they will timeout like cam, chatroom invite, contacts share etc once you don’t touch them.
If you’re using later versions of Y! Messenger a newer policy on Buddy requests mean the other person gets “add request pending” until you accept it, this kinda gets messed up at the moment due to yahoo still having support for older messengers using YMSG10 , 11 and 12. (aka Y!messenger 5.6 , 6.0 , 6.x..)
This means you will get the add request everytime you log in.
Now if you mean the invite to get the latest version of yahoo! messenger, just don’t reply, an they will know no differ.
As a last resort as tim mentioned, you can ignore them.
