Yes, you can see whos really online w/ http://www.buddy-spy.com. There are a few others out there that do the same as buddy spy, but im partial lolMarch 14, 2006 at 1:33 am #75866Mac_BlueMemberStupid question here…lol…
So if you use buddyspy, and find out a certain person IS online, even though they’re showing offline, can they be notified by buddyspy or any other program that could alert them that someone is checking their online status? Hope that makes sense.
And, if the person has trillian set up, making all their instant messengers into one group, would it still work? Or does trillian have it’s own features which wouldn’t be picked up on by buddyspy?
Thanks in advance.

In Yahoo Messenger > Preferences > Privacy if you uncheck the option “Allow Yahoo web site to show my online status” or something like that, you’ll no longer appear online in yahoo website and probably even other sites that use those Yahoo button-like images saying “yahoo-id is online” and a smilie face (don’t know their name, some people have that in their blogs or websites, the point is that those site are not made/hosted by yahoo).
Using buddy spy raises another question: is the person you’re spying on invisible only to you, or to everybody in their list? So to say, they don’t wish to speak to you and you alone, or maybe they’re not in the mood for anyone, or maybe are away and have switched to invisible mode…
March 15, 2006 at 7:35 pm #75862NettiMemberMac – Buddy spy does NOT alert the person you are checking their status, however if you use the option to check what room that person is in, it will send your name into that room to grab the room name, then pop back out.
It’s always a good idea to use other name that will be used only for buddy spy and no one knows. That way there will be no mishaps.
As far as I know, trillian I’m not sure, but if they are still logged into yahoo servers, and can receive pm’s, etc. then buddy-spy should still work.
