Awhile ago I tried out a registry trick to completely disable the MSN Messenger Sign-In History. It worked and that was fine, but unfortunately I forgot to re-enable it afterwards. Now my wife is complaining because she keeps having to re-type her sign-in name. Whoops! Problem is, now I can’t find the key I changed and I can’t find the web article I read that told me how to do it in the first place. Anyone know what I’m talking about?
And after a week of searching I found it!
Here is the registry tweak to completely disable MSN Login history:
Open the Registry Editor, and navigate to the key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEMCurrentControlSetControlLsa
Create a Value called “disabledomaincreds” and set it to “1”.
Reboot will finalize the process.
Key Details:
Machine Key: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Control Lsa]
Value Name: disabledomaincreds
Data Type: REG_DWORD (DWORD Value)
Data Value: “1” = disable : “0” = enable
Gah, sorry shifter. If I saw this thread earlier I could have helped you and you wouldn’t have had to waste your time searching >.<
