Disconnecting AIM

ok I use SBC yahoo! Dsl
whenever I try to Direct Connect with AIM I get disconnected
please help

It connects, but then right after it disconnects?

Do you have a firewall or router running?

i think there is a firewall
but I dont know how to change it

well it doesnt disconnect right after I connect..i only get disconnected after I try to direct connect with someone

and

i dont know what a router is lol sry
