Do custom buddy icons still exist?

If we use our own icons then why can’t the aol members can’t see the custom icons we have? Btw I don’t have AOL. I just use AIM.

My buddy icon just disappears every now and then. I have to keep uploading it back if I want it to show up to people and myself.
