Do u have the same problem with yahoo 5.6?

hi there,

I jus tried 5.6 and the problem i face is that if i close the IM window each new message (from the same friend) appear in separate windows.Do u have ne idea….

Hello..very new here. I’m having somewhat of the same problem if I understand you correctly. When I receive a new message from the same person I will get two or three at a time depending on the message. Anyone have advice, I’m guessing it’s just a “kink” in the new version?? Thanks much.

Yes I am also expereincing the same silly problem, when some one gives messages it appears in my pc multiple windows for each line.

could any body had a solution for this

hi Freddy as u suggested i downloaded 5.5.0.1254 version and clean installed. strange the problem is still exist.
I observed one more thing those multiple window messages are offliners which are getting as online messages each line in a separate window…

Now I am confused…

Hi Freddy sorry i have given wrong info above. I installed 5.5.0.1254 and when i login thru that i am getting security update, if i say yes it is converting 1254 version to latest, again i loaded 1254 and observing..because previously there were no problems with that version..hope problem may be disappeared

I got a msg from a friend yesterday, and it was two msgs and they were in different windows and it booted me off messenger. Never had this problem b4, but I had a guy i talked to on cheetah chat that every time he would msg me it would be in a new box lol, really annoying but my friend wasn’t on cheetah chat, i have been gettin booted for no reason other then being msg or getting a msg from someone.

You must uninstall 5.6 totally, add/remove programs then delete the c:program filesyahoo!messenger folder to delete all the old files.

You can kill auto update, http://www.freddys-utilities.co.uk/disupdate.php

It doesn’t matter if you uninstall completely and go back to the old version. You will still get the same problems, especially if people you chat with have the new version. It hasn’t helped. Guess it’s something to live with until the problem fixes itself.

The separate windows don’t bother me as much as the DELAYS. Sometimes an hour will pass, with no new messages, then I’ll get a pile of OLD messages from the same person in separate windows. And it seems that some of these old messages are lost in cyberspace.
