KeymasterIf so what are they and why are you called that?
Now that I’m driving down to visit the family for Christmas I’m bound to hear these
Anthy – Short for Anthony (though my name is Antonio)
El bebito – Which means baby in spanish, since I’m the baby of the family (blah!)
Pollito – Which means baby chicken because my parents say I always felt warm as a baby and through my toddler years. Whenever they were cold they would hold me more. (maybe I had some skin disease they never got to checking :p)December 16, 2004 at 5:29 pm #109003Oreo
MemberWell, being the youngest in my family, one summer my older sisters decided that I NEEDED a nickname. So they were going through all of these different (MEAN AND ANNOYING) names. They came up with “ACE” don’t ask me why…I think it was because I was a clumsy kid actually…and they’d be like “Nice job…ACE!” And then go off laughing. Well, that name didn’t really stick. Since my name is Elisa I’d often just get “Elis” “Lisa” or just plain “Lis” OH…yeah…really interesting…well…now that I’ve shared my pain with you…I think I’ll start a topic about embarassing moments…after I search to make sure there isn’t one. 😀

MemberOne ski trip my uncle all of a sudden decided to call me “spud”. I have no idea why, but every once in awhile he HAS to bring it up in front of me…But this season, I’ll just be called Jake or Jacob, mostly Jake. Maybe a Spike here or there, but unlikely; not that many in my family know me as Spike.

MemberThe most common one I have is “Bradders”, due to my surname being Bradley.
Closer friends call me “Brent” though, or “Brentish” or “Brentesque”. That one is because I have been known to say things in a David Brent fashion, just for the comedy.

ParticipantI guess “Anna” counts, since my real name is “Anna Maria”.
Although my universal username online has been “Anna Katana” for years now, and I’ve become a sort of eCeleberity in Winnipeg now for it. Everyone refers to me as “Anna Katana”, even when addressing me face to face. Almost everyone has heard the name “Anna Katana” in the Osborne Village area of Winnipeg (where I spend most of my time) at some point or another, it’s crazy!

MemberOne of my friends is just plain retarded, and he will come up with these stupid little nicknames. Well, my name is Colin, somehow he got Coolandro (coo as in poo, land as in laundry, and ro as in ro) I have no idea how he got it, thats just how he is. Well now, he just shortened it up to Coo. So now every time he says somethin to me it is , “Hey coo…”. Not that cool ’round all the hot girls cause me and him have to explain it.
Also, another one of my stupid nicknames was given to me in 7th grade (2 years ago). We were in science class, and we had to measure various parts of our bodies. We had to have partners, and one of the things we measured was lip size or somethin like that. Well my partner convienantly yells to the whole class “Colin’s got congo lips” because I guess my lips are “large”. Well, to this day some people still call me that.
So in conclusion, my friends come up with the suckiest, most embarrassing nicknames for me.

MemberUh.. usually my friends and other people I know will occasionally call me Drew. I can stand that. I hate it when people go around and call me Andy, though. I really don’t like that.
(If ya didn’t know, my real first name is Andrew)

MemberRach or Rae. My mom and dad call me Rach more than others. Mostly my friends call me Rae. My grandfather’s name is Ray, so I was kinda named after him (RAYmond, RAchel…do you see the distinction?) and he calls me Rae also (for obvious reasons).
Feel free to call me either of these…most people around here refer to me as Rae anyway, which is fine. I go by either of those, along with my full name, Rachel.

MemberMy friends always called me Dan (short for Diana) and I hated because theres a guy that I hate named Dan in my class. So one day my teacher asked the class if we had any questions on our hw and I raised my hand and the teacher said “yes Dan?” I thought he meant me so I go on with my questions but after I finished talking the whole class was staring at me and the teacher was like “i meant Dan not you Diana”
Oh gosh I hate my nickname:(December 19, 2004 at 9:31 am #109005Someguy03
MemberI am called “Foley.”
Though my name is Kyle, literally every guy (including some of my teachers) call me Foley. The only people that usually don’t are girls, and even in some cases they do. If you said “Hey Foley” I would instantly turn around. I might even have more of a chance to reacting to my last name than my first.
