Do you pay for chat

ya seriously why in the world do you do that??? is Y! over??? ICQ banned??? MSN does not connect??? Trillian never loads??? what is the reason that you pay for chatting???

translation please? try english maybe. i know the apostrophe can be fun to play with, but it’s really not needed ALL the time. you pay for ‘it’ – meaning paltalk – because it has no ads or popup ads… and why? that second part there just confused the **** out of me. (use your own expletive of choice) aim has only one ad along the top of the buddy list, and you can get programs to remove that. msn has only one ad along the bottom of the buddy list, and you can get programs to remove that. i cant speak for the other messengers like yahoo, because i dont use them (try asking in those forums for an answer). but WHY WHY WHY would you pay for a messenger????

I don’t do chat rooms hardly ever, but I would think the number one reason to pay for a chat service (like Paltalk) is to avoid the morons typically found in the free chatrooms.

Free chatrooms seem to be infested with spam bots and malcontents who want to piss people off or boot them or whatever. A lot of the real people causing trouble in the free chat rooms are kids, who typically don’t have the credit card generally required to pay for a service like PalTalk. By eliminating them, you’ve rid yourself of 99% of the problems.

As an adult with a job, seems like money well spent. 🙂

I use Trillian Pro and I’m very happy with it, but it’s a very different thing from PalTalk. If you’re looking for member-only chat rooms, webcams and voice, stick with PalTalk.

But if you have IM accounts on multiple IM networks (MSN, AIM, Yahoo!, or ICQ), Trillian allows you to run ALL of them using just the one program. It simplifies things for people who must connect to multiple networks. For more info about Trillian, visit our Trillian Center.

Right now I say I wo’t pay to chat through an IM – but I did at one time say that about email and I have bought into a pro email service. So maybe in a year providing there are some real incentives, I can see most services offering some sort of multi-level chat services from major companies.
