Team FX has announced that they will not be releasing the Otsego add-on for AIM as previously announced, in part because of the perception that people didn’t want it, or were badmouthing it. So I thought, why not conduct our own informal poll?
Of course, this will probably have little or no influence on the developer’s decision, but it might shed some light on what people really want. The question is simple:
Do you want Team-FX to release Otsego?
January 22, 2004 at 1:29 am #85702FaizanMemberYes, because I wouldn’t mind giving it a go, and someone has put all that time and effort into it, I would atleast try it to appreciate the developers’ effort! 🙂
January 22, 2004 at 1:49 am #85713AnimeUSAParticipantIf it is really real, I will use it of course. And I will send an e-mail apologizing to them for thinking it was a hoax and congratulating them on a great program.
But for because of this “delay” and because of “complaints”. We still don’t have a working program for proof. It’s just that I’ve seen things like this before, where the developers try and see how long they can fool their audience. If it is indeed real, goodluck to the team!

January 22, 2004 at 2:52 am #85719The guruMemberit seemed like it had promise, but i gess it wasn’t meant to be…good luck to the developers an their future endevours.
January 22, 2004 at 2:52 am #85715direwolfMemberit looks like a neat program.. i was dissappointed when they changed their mind on releasing it
January 22, 2004 at 3:40 am #85705Grim ReaperMemberYes I would like to have it. I like trying out new add-ons.
January 22, 2004 at 4:57 am #85718PhaseDMAMemberWho is the smart ass that voted “No”?
January 22, 2004 at 6:11 am #85720LowerCrassBratMemberhaha. phase is so cool.
January 22, 2004 at 6:19 am #85717PhaseDMAMemberAll I ask for is for the reaction.
January 22, 2004 at 6:31 am #85703BrianMemberNah, I wouldn’t bother downloading Otsego. Just checked for info on whois, they have chosen to conceal info.
January 22, 2004 at 6:39 am #85706ladie_vennomMemberYea i would probably try it. I like trying new add-ons, but i wont shed a tear if it isn’t released. I’m happy using AIMutation.
January 22, 2004 at 8:03 pm #85712dclamMemberI vote no. Quite frankly this entire situation just seems a bit…off. I mean honestly, first they announce the release date, then the release date comes, coincidentally at that very moment something terrible happens to the internet and they can’t upload the program. Then surprise again, the next day they are refusing to share it because some people were anxious about the delay and others were mean to them? I call bulls**t.
January 22, 2004 at 11:47 pm #85709Dr KimbleParticipantIf it is free, sure, I mean it sounds super awsome and with the amount of time I spend on AIM it will be useful. It sounds like DeadAIM on steroids ^_~
January 23, 2004 at 4:02 am #85707Someguy03MemberI think that this program is the next big thing in AIM. Fixer is making a bad choice not releasing it. For one he is ruining his reputation holding the program back, and for two he has no reason too.
I was reading some posts on the Middleman forums and one person stated, “The people calling Otsego a fake/copy are getting what they want.” “If the program doesn’t get released then all the more reason to believe that it is all a joke.” I totally agree with that and showed it too Fixer, I hope it changed his impression on whats going on. Just because people like Phase that have no respect go and talk about how the program is a copy doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be released.
Many people agree that AIM is a horrible instant messenger with great potential. I’m sure that the developers at AOL know this and look what they have done? They are doing their best and releasing new versions of the program in attempts to improvide it, not getting angry and deciding to shutdown due to lack of respect.
January 23, 2004 at 4:19 am #85721SeanCCAMemberi would try it.
