im wanting to learn how to program cause i want to try and make a new im client with features from different add-ons(yes i know it’ll probably take me a long time to learn how to do that) so if anyone knows of a site i’d apreciate it
Well that’s a very large problem to tackle right there, and I might suggest an easier language like Python or Java for that kind of task(especially if you plan on doing it on your own).
Here’s a site that has tuts on just about everything: http://freeprogrammingresources.com/
But remember this rule of learning programming: “one
learns how to write code by reading code. One doesn’t learn how to
ride a bike by reading a book, either.” -Theo de Raadt
You can also have a look at http://www.hypothetic.org/docs/msn to see how msn works for getting an idea of how to define protocol of your client.
Dear Chikenkicker,
Here is a nice place to start out: http://www.cprogramming.com. Take it slow and learn from the basic. Don’t rush, build a strong foundation first and you will eventually get there, even though it might be a long long way =)…so don’t give up.
Once you fully understand C++, learning JAVA later should be easy as eating a cake =P..yummy =D
You can also try searching for C++ on any good search engines, there are thousands of sites you can learn out there.
Good luck on your way to be a programmer 😉
