well yeah but you wont be able to see them either, so what’s the point of that one?? all you can really do is use a “secret” screenname that no one else knows, its the same effect i suppose…

i’m surprised no one’s mentioned this.. but when you go to the wrench menu.. and select “privacy”
it says.. “who can contact me” and gives you the options “allow all users to contact me”, “allow only users on my buddy list” and “allow only users below” (you add the people who you want to talk to you to the box below)

and how does that have anything to do with being “invisible”?? you would still be very much visible to anyone on your buddy list… and besides, chokeonyourwords already mentioned it…

but of course yeah there’s no real invisible mode.. and you can’t block people and still see them online.. but when you don’t want certain people to big you while you talk to others it’s pretty useful
AIM seriously needs to come up with an Appear Offline mode. All the other IMs have this. AIM is falling further and further behind the 8 ball when compared with IMs like MSN Msg 6.
