MemberOn Trillian when I connect to Yahoo, I can no longer see the users who are connected using Yahoo Messenger, only those who are also using Trillian. When I try to have a webcam conversation with the other user, Trillian crashes.
Is anyone else having the same problems, does Trillian have a patch or something to fix these problems yet?

MemberTrillan works fine for seeing Yahoo members online (as long as you have all the patches/upgrades). Perhaps you have thought it couldn’t see yahoo messenger members because they were invisable? But anyway, yes, the Yahoo webcam is bugged. It does not work at all on Trillian anymore. (2.01 atleast, I’m not sure about 2.0…but 2.0 has other bugs). The webcam quality on trillian is poor anyways, so there is no real point in using it, even if it did work.

MemberFreddie, I would be able to see you online if you also use Trillian.
Well, I have downloaded Yahoo Messenger and when I logon to that, I can see people online, that are not invisible. But on Trillian, they don’t appear to be online at all, only the ones who also use Trillian.
I use Trillian Pro 2.0 and I’m unaware of any new yahoo patches for it. The last time I remember downloading one, was when Trillian immediately crashed when I logged into Yahoo…and I believe that was during September ’03…longtime ago.
Are the any new Yahoo patches since then, and what’s the filename for it?

Member🙁 Hi
I am still having problems with Trillian 2.0 and
Yahoo. If I leave the servers as is, its connects but no contacts show (no they are not in invis mode :P)
I have the patch from last Oct, and I tried using different Yahoo servers and then my password fails.
Very disappointed at this point; I really enjoyed Trillian, any other suggestions out there?

MemberGo into account preferences, and on the connection tab chage the sever to scs.msg.yahoo.com . On version 2.01 this should already be the server.

Is your port set to 5050? I’m using scs.msg.yahoo.com, port 5050 and it’s working great!

MemberYep. It was port 5050 already, so still no luck.

MemberI d/l Trillian v 0.74 patch F (the free one) but it doesn’t work. I can login and it shows my friends list and open their profiles but that’s all. I tested it using another ID at YM. I went through the menus but can’t find the option that can get us into Yahoo chatrooms. What’s wrong?

MemberI don’t understand why it works for some people and not for others, namely me. I upgraded to 2.01 from 2.0 to see if that makes a difference. Everything is set right. I seem to be able to send messages (all contacts are offline right now, so I am not sure). I got a mail notification just now (sent myself a test mail), yet when I clicked on my profile here at BBB, it shows me as offline… Does this mean I am effectively invisible to my contacts?

MemberFreddie – When you view your own yahoo profile does it show you as online there? If not, when you go to the edit profiles, make sure this box is unchecked: Check the box to hide my online status from other users.
If it doesn’t show you as online there then it definatly wont show you as online on BBB. If that box is unchecked, and you still arnt showing online, I don’t know whats wrong, I am using Trillian Pro 2.01 right now and it is showing fine.March 8, 2004 at 8:25 pm #49878tslogf74
MemberI have experienced this, but only with some real Yahoo! users, so I’m assuming it’s down to the version of the Yahoo! client.
I run Trillian 2.012 now, the latest patch, but it’s been the same since I started on 0.74. The thing is, some people appear online just fine, some people appear offline but when I send them a message they respond and then become online, and some people appear offline and never get my message at all. Yet I know they are online because they are sitting right next to me. Very odd.
