i always see that people on here tell us when new releases of aim are out, whether they are beta or final. I never thought anything of it until now tho. I never get notifcations about new releases of aim when I sign on. you know how you can check if you want to be notified with beta and/or final releases..has anyone else noticed this? and its not like its been with just one aim version that this has happened with cause ive had multiple versions and I still dont get any notifications.
It might only tell you to upgrade every large set of releases, such as 4.8, 5.2, 5.5 and so on, rather than 5.5.2356 or 5.2.3292.
but arent those little releases still beta releases? and it gives you the option to be notified if a beta release comes out. I dont get it.
I highly doubt AOL would release notifictions of BETA releases. BETA releases are still being “tested” when they are released. When an important, or “big” release happens, you get notified.
They do have notifications for beta releases as well as final. However, I think that AOL just takes longer to update their notifications when a new build is released. I always end up finding out about a new build the day that it is released and I install it right away so AIM never gets a chance to actually detect a new one. If you continued to use it for a few days, maybe even a week or two, I think you would eventually get the notifacition of a new build. That’s how it used to work for me anyway.
