Has anybody else read Doris Lessing?
I’m currently reading her novel “The diaries of Jane Summers” although I’ve also read “The golden notebook” [a real eye opener for men on how women feel when they are in love] and “The Good Terrorist” [a fantastic read involving an unlikely situation].
Has anybody else got an opinion on any of Doris’s novels/short stories [she wrote one of best I’ve ever read]?
Over to you…

The stuff is fiction for the most part?
I like historical fiction best, but really enjoyed The Alchemist by Coehlo.

Gosh I am the opposite completely, I make time I adore to read, so if I am relaxing Sarah has a book. Actually if I don’t have something to read I am a pain!
But sorry Leapy Leo not read any of her work, but I will put it on my list. 😉
My last read list are as follows:
Bill Bryson – In A Sunburned Country – funny and very informative
Cocky – The rise and fall of Curtis Warren – About a drug baron – okish
I Escaped From Auschwitz – Rudolf Vrba – Fantastic! One of my best reads of last year – a massive book that I completed in 2 days – I even stayed up all night reading it, I just could not put it down 😮
As far as my feet will carry me – Josef M Bauer – Astounding book of bravery.
Sleep With Me – Joanna Briscoe – Clever thrillerAnd my current book is Shakespeares Sonnets – which I have actually read many times since I got it for Christmas, but I love it! 😀

It’s a shame but I just wrote you both a long extract from Doris Lessing’s biog and guess what, when I tried to submit it the computer had logged me out [again], mind you it has been playing up ever since my daughter got on online!!!
So I’ll just say thanx for your reply Polarbear, even though the subject didn’t ticly appeal to you you still took time to reply and I appreciate that!
Sarah, unfortunately I hav’n’t read any of the books you recommend although I will [like you] put them on my reading list [and that’s no idle threat because I’m coming to the end of my present read so will be scouting around the shelves soon]. My Sarah highly recommends Bill Bryson tho and I usually trust her judgement.
🙂
