A few years ago, I had a cool program that did it beautifully, but when I tried it after a few months, it no longer worked. Is there some new magic out there? I would love to be able to save some music videos to play on my iPod. Is there a place to download music videos for free?
I don’t do this myself, but it seems that I’ve heard of this being done. I suspect there are a number of tools that do this well, and thought I’d check with the community and see what turns up.
Download Helper is a Firefox add-on that will let you download and save You Tube videos (for replay on the computer). (I should also mention that technically saving any You Tube video is a violation of their TOS.)
You could then use something like Quick Media Converterto save it in a format that would likely play on an iPod. I think .mov files are supported and QuickTime is one of the conversion choices.
I also saw they have a new Quick Youtube Converter that’s available for download as a beta test product. There didn’t seem to be any info about it or it’s capabilities. As with any beta product it may be glitchy so just know that ahead of time.
Hey thanks for the tip, patndoris! This worked great!
