For whatever reason, I am no longer able to connect using one of my screen names, no matter what computer I am on. My other screen name works fine. I’ve checked the connection settings, cleaned the registry, uninstalled and reinstalled about 4000 times, disabled everything that I could disable, and still no go. I am able to connect using AIM express. This is happening to someone else in our office too. Can someone PLEASE tell me how to go about fixing this. . . I just can’t figure it out – why would one screen name work and not the other? Thanks.

With one of my screen names, I often have to attempt to sign on 2 or 3 times before it finally lets me on. With my other two screen names, it signs on instantly. I don’t know what the problem is trying to connect with my main screen name, but it’s maddening.
December 24, 2005 at 1:36 pm #134697kbryanParticipantI do believe that the AIM servers do contribute to the problems that everyone is having to some extent. Also, I found out that if you try to sign on too many times, your account is blocked out for 24 hours and each time you try and log in, it gets reset to another 24 hours. So, my advice is to not try and login on a particular computer for 24 hours. You can, however, sign in from a computer that is different from the one you originally tried to sign on too. Maybe it is somehow tied to IP address? I dunno.
