You know the bar that drops down on lets say yahoo? It shows your history of what you searched? Im wodnering if there is a option to stop that. It is annoying when I’m trying to type.
Like if you typed ‘ya’ then it comes up yahoo.com?
Delete your history files, and delete them everytime you finish browsing. Annoying I know, but then the bar won’t drop down because it will have no history of websites to select from.
Also, I cannot see how this is really a problem when typing, this feature is called “Autocomplete” and is meant to reduce the amount of typing time. Now, for example, if you were to want to go to, “www.yahzi.com”, and you type “www.yah”, as soon as you type the next letter “z”, providing you have not been to yahzi.com before, the bar will disappear. It only looks for autocomplete when it can find something which matches what you are typing.
NOTE: I used yahzi.com merely as an example of a site which has the same beginning few letters as yahoo.com.
I don’t have Auto Complete turned on, I don’t like for my Internet surfing habits to be controlled.
CoxsackVirus, if you want to disable Auto Complete, you could try following instruction: http://malektips.com/ie60002.html
