Hello all.
I’ve never formatted my computer after I got a DSL connection and that time has finally come. Now I remember the technician doing some things, adjusting settings and such when he was installing my new modem, I believe it was part of the activation process.
So I’m one step away from wiping out my hard drive and wondering if I’ll have repeat that activation procedure because I have no idea how to do it.
Also, I once visited some site that was scanning your computer and installing the latest drivers matching your hardware. Does anyone know that site or a similar one? It would be pretty handy after I get done with formatting. Thanks to whoever took time to read this.

as for some kind of activation process, i dont think you’d have to do anything on your computer. i could be wrong, but i think it’s just the modem that requires “activaction”… (it was actually my dad’s computer that was used when we first got DSL… so if there was something special, i didnt get it)

Formatting is irrelevant to DSL but along with the new modem I got this CD ”Speedtouch 500 series – set up CD-ROM”. So I guess all I have to do is reinstall Speedtouch?
The ISP will help me out if I get in trouble but thats plan B, I’m trying to save myself from that trouble. As for the second question, I take it that I’m the only one ever seen that site.
I asked that question because I’m having trouble with my graphics card, if I run a game for instance, slowly the screen fills with pixels of different colors and the game lags.Dont know whats enlightening or not for a suggestion in finding the problem or better drivers so here goes:
Chip Type: NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4200 with AGP8X
DAC Type: Integrated RAMDAC
Memory size: 128
Bios Information: 4.28.2021 -
