Hi!
I’m programming in ASP. The Site gets the ICQ-Number from the Database. Can i use the Status Indicator which is generated after registering on status.trollprod.com dynamically or do i have to register every ICQ-Number i use on my site?
Thanks in advance for answers.
Sabrina
You don’t have to register for each ICQ number you use on your site.
However, if you have a busy site, you should consider to set up your own OSI host.
hi Tony!
Thank you for the answer!
If i’d like to use my own icons i have to register each number, right?
i also had following problem: i registered an icq-number with my own icons, it worked. then i registered a msn messenger-user also with my own icons but there are always the standard-icons shown.
i considered an own host already, but i must talk to my boss…

If you have your own host, you can have your own default icons for the host (which means that you don’t have to register each user).
Register an MSN user with your own icons should work fine too. Some browsers cannot handle usernames containing @ so that may be the issue. Internet Explorer should work fine, but I am not sure about all versions of Netscape. Also, make sure that the icon wasn’t cached.
