This could prove to be a weird question but…
When you send an email, is there a way to know that the person has opened the email? I see that there are greeting cards that notify the sender that the card has been viewed, could that be done is a normal email?
I mean…how do the greeting card servers do it?
Any information on this, is highly appreciated.
ThanksP.S. I hope this hasnt been asked before
EDIT: Moved from Computer & Console Games

Yes, they do this thing though: They send u a link( each link for every user ) to a greeting card. and when the person clicks dat link and visits to that greeting card, perhaps, they come to know about it from the logs of their servers or from any cookies in their greeting card website designed to know about it. So naturaly, they come to know that this person has visited the card which means he/she opened his/her email to reach this website.

October 17, 2004 at 9:49 am #36597DeadeyeMemberI couldnt find this option David. I searched in both yahoo and MSN clients, also used the help option to search for keywords. Nothing.
Where is it?
ThanksOctober 17, 2004 at 3:39 pm #36595DavidParticipantI do not know where it is in those clients, I only know where it is in Outlook. Under “Options…” for a new message in Outlook 2003:
