What are they going to think of next?
August 3, 2004 at 4:51 am #40816detn8rParticipantIs this supposed to be a joke?
August 3, 2004 at 5:05 am #40821Hurricane22491MemberYou can literally eat that stuff? It looks like it wouldn’t taste too good. Plus, would anyone eat something that they slept in?
August 3, 2004 at 5:36 am #40822AwesomeSauceParticipantMost of the stuff is made out of “GummiSkin”, I’m not sure how much different it is from gummi-bears, or something like that. The sleeping pads are made out of “Carbofoam”(whatever the heck that is), and the the trekking poles are made out of “ProteinStick”.
I wouldn’t eat it right away, but if I was starving and that was my last resort, it would sound good to me!
August 3, 2004 at 6:17 am #40818TigerbladeParticipantyeah I have a feeling this is meant mostly to be a joke… especially with lines like
Quote:quote:Of course, it tastes like bleached cotton and chews about the same, so you’ll still want to make sure you have a SnackPackTM or SweetTarpTM along for the hike (not to mention a pair of shorts).and
Quote:quote:Question: Aren’t animals attracted to equipment made of out food?Answer: No. Animals aren’t stupid. Animals don’t consider Edible Gear food. You on the other hand, are clearly smart enough to understand that weight saving takes precedence over everything. As you’re choking down your sleeping pad just think to yourself how easy it’ll be to heft that pack tomorrow morning with two ounces less weight.

“Question: If I eat my pack, how do I get home?
Answer: It’s necessary to take care in ordering the consumption of your trail gear. Hikers normally consume the pack last (although they might save a trekking pole for the hike out).”
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
August 3, 2004 at 8:00 am #40819rafaelemtMemberThat page definetly proves that there’s more crazy people in the streets than in the nut house:p But, on the other hand that stuff if real, can meke the difference between strving or making it alive if you get lost in the wildrerness.

August 4, 2004 at 1:58 am #40817OreoMemberI’ve heard of edible knickers before….but I think this is not for hiking…nor for anything on this board…so I’ll leave it at that.
