My email alerts for the threads i’m subscribed to, and in fact all email I’ve received from BBB today, has gone into my Bulk Mail folder.
Now, this is only with Yahoo! Mail, I’m not sure if it’s the case with anyone else, and it’s only started happening today.
I can, and will of course set up a filter to make sure BBB email is delivered into my inbox, but I’m just wondering if it’s more of a widespread problem, and if there’s any reason at this end why Yahoo! has suddenly started filtering my BBB Mail to the Bulk folder. If it affects normal members, they may not receive important emails, to which the consequences are obvious.
The reason this happens with Yahoo! Mail is because when ONE person gets an e-mail from BBB to activate their registeration or something especially new members who forget they even registered, they hit “spam.” Well after they hit spam, yahoo thinks whoever gets e-mails from BBB consider it spam too. So they send it to our bulk folder. You have to personally submit it as not spam to make it go right. I know when i submitted mine i made sure to hit the link that made yahoo know that BBB doesn’t send Bulk Mail so that they’d know not everyone considers it as being bulk. So yeah, it’s not just you… But enough of my rambling!
This is a common problem with many mail systems and forum notification emails. When it happens, please be sure to click the “not spam” button, and I appreciate if you let me know. I like to keep track of how the various email systems are treating our email.

mmh very odd, went to my yahoo account where my bbb subscribed updates go. This morning I got so many duplications of the same email.
6 of each, for the sections I am subscribed to.
Sniff and I thought before I opened my inbox that I must been popular whilst I have been offline!

Not that I’ve noticed. Can you send me a copy? I’d like to see what time it was.
Offhand, it sounds like there was some server weirdness. Send a copy and I’ll check into it.
Yeah…lately I’ve gotten some duplicates. Like one day I’d already open them, delete them, then go to bed and all. I’d wake up the next day and get the same messages AGAIN! Very weird. Hasn’t happened today though, maybe it was just some server weirdness for a moment there…
