I have recently downloaded Yahoo Messenger so that I will be able to recive my email notifications like I can with MSN messenger.
I’m guessing to be able to tell if I have an email, I go to Help>Yahoo Insider and it has a message at the top saying ‘no new emails’ I have tested it out by sending an email to this account but it doesnt change the no email message.
I have a Yahoo email account but it has a Talk21 name due to BT and Yahoo joining forces, so that might have something to do with it. How do I get it to work, or am I trying to find a feature that doesnt excist in Yahoo Messenger?
What you may need to do is configure your preferences in Messenger. With messenger open go to the “messenger” menu, then select “Preferences” Once you have done that a bunch of things will pop up…choose “Alerts & Sounds” once you are there….go to the “When I recieve Yahoo! Mail” Make sure that all of the boxes are ticked for the options that you want. Also, remember that there is a bit of lag time when you send an e-mail and when Yahoo! checks for it…it all depends on how often you want it to refreash.
