MemberOk guys. So i know this person who is logging onto my account, checking my emails. Because it has said, ” other system has logged in”, theres only one person who knows my email password. Theres nothing private on there, but what if he checks it, and then “marks unread”..i dont like this with MSN at all, is there any way i can filter? to see if he has read it etc…whats the benefit of markin unread?
Cheers.

ModeratorThe only reason I can think of for marking an email as unread (after you’ve already read it) is to maybe read it again in the future, because it has info that might need to be recalled. Still, some people might have other reasons for doing this.
It would also be prudent NOT to let anyone know your passwords, unless absolutely necessary.

ParticipantWell, currently, unless you have access to the computer he’s logging in from you’d have no way to “prove” it that I can think of. If you do have access, there are add-on programs such as “WLM Plus” that can record logins/logouts etc for all your contacts. It would not however show you he accessed email, only that someone using that machine logged into WLM using your login.
Of course this brings up another issue, beyond simply marking something as unread, how do you know things are not being deleted and the trash emptied? You’d never have a clue things are disappearing. As for marking unread, I guess different people have different reasons for doing it. Some people don’t use folders to organize their emails so if they need to deal with one they mark it unread so they can distinguish it from one they just wanted to keep. Personally, I think folders are far more efficient, but some people just prefer to do things their way. In your case however, you are correct it makes it impossible for you to tell if he’s read them or not.
I’d strongly suggest a new WLM account and protect your password. You should be able to migrate everything to a new account with little effort.

Member“WLM Plus”
Assuming, Windows Live Messenger Plus? If so, i have that. Though i can only tell when people were last online, IF i was online, when they were online…If that makes in sense?
So i’ll go “contact information” (whilst appearing offline), and it wont have the date for which i can see, but the date I was last online AND so were they.
I dont know if you use myspace? but with myspace it has “last login”, but with MSN Plus, (well the version i have), i have to be online for their last login to appear. SO! Is it possible to see when their last login was, if on offline/appearoffline.???
p.s the msn plus that i have, has features such as “play music” when they come online, etc.
thanks…

Memberits alright lads.
“display event viewer”. I shall try this 🙂 and as for emails, theres no evidence to show when its being logged on for (www)hotmail(dot com)viewing?
