Hi, I have a problem with my msn 6.1 where I can put emoticons in my text and the people I am having a convo with can see them in their message box, but I cannot see the emoticon in my message box. I know that this can sometime happen with msn Plus! but I dont have that installed. I have also tried reinstalling msn 6.1 and yet I still get nothing. If someone knows the answer to this problem that would be amazing.
Thanks
You probably have changed the settings so that you cannot view them. You can change it back by going to tools>>options>>messages tab, and making sure you have the following two boxes checked:
Also note: When you are using custom emoticons, sometimes they take a few seconds to download to your computer, and or your contacts before you can view them.
I’ve had that problem intermittently with a friend I chat with. One moment we can’t see each others’ custom emoticons, the next we can. We chalk it up to MSN being MSN.
As a side note detn8r, where’d you get that funky skin for your MSNM with the lower right corner broken off your buttons? That’s phat.
If you have XP it’s a visualStyle you can pick up from http://www.themexp.org 😉
