MemberA couple of weeks ago I installed MSN Messenger 7.0 but I didn’t use it till last night. Then I noticed something strange. When I opened a convo window with someone, it already contained some text. It took me some time to realize that those were the last few lines from the last conversation we had a couple of months ago. What could have caused this?
One more thing. I have Messenger Discovery and Messenger Plus installed. Is it possible that these two show pop-ups with different status of my friend i.e. one says ONLINE and the other says MOBILE. In the convo window there was no Auto Message that the contact is using another version of messenger, but when I tried to send a Nudge, I received a msg
You cannot send a Nudge to your contact because he or she is using an older version of Messenger that does not support this feature.
and when I tried to send a wink, it said
**** is using a version of Messenger that does not support winks.Thanx

ParticipantI don’t think it’s possible that Messenger Plus and Messenger Discovery can show different statuses of your contacts.
The auto message saying that a person is using a different version of Messenger will show only if you start a feature that doesn’t exist in other versions, like send a wink or a nudge or a voice clip. In this case your contact seems to be using an older version than 7.0 or Windows Messenger or is signed on from Web Messenger.
About your first question, i really don’t know why it happens but it’s possibly caused by conflicts of your addons, uninstall one of them (if not both) and see if you’ll have the same odd thing again.
You can always try using the latest messenger version as well (7.5) here

MemberFor the first “issue”, MSN Messenger 7.5 has a logging feature. If you turn this feature on, you can choose whether or not you want it to show the previous conversation in any new conversion (I guess so you can remember what you last talked to that contact about…?).

As far as the other ‘issue’ is concerned ………….
I think I made a mistake in my previous post, since I paid attention to those pop-up windows next time I used MSN:
MSN Messenger said **** signed in with a mobile device
Messenger plus said **** is online
Messenger Discovery said nothingAnd this time there was some kind of Auto message (I can’t remember it exactly) but it had a mbl phone icon and said something like … Your contact may be charged for the messages depending on ….
