error 8009001a … I need help! =(

I recently installed msn messenger 8.0 and since then can’t sign in anymore. Everytime I try to do so I’m getting an error message (code 8009001a)

I already found a couple of links in Forums with something that fixes this problem. unfortunalety, those links have all already expired =(

Now I’m hoping that someone can help me with this.
(I can sign in to any other messenger (if I install old ones) and I could sign in to my former messenger this morning.)

Thanx already for the help!!

p.s.: I’m having this problem with windown live messenger and msn messenger. don’t know if that’s important to know *shrug*

Noticed file link is broken on download so try doing the following.

go to Start then Run and typing in regsvr32 softpub.dll and press return

it should register the dll (dynamic link libary)

try to login again.
