What’s your favorite quote? Especially ones that initially make you go, “hmm?”
Mine’s a version of a poem by Hughes Mearns (not the original version necessarily):
As I was going up the stair
I saw a man who wasn’t there
He wasn’t there again today
I wish, I wish he’d go away.makes me go ‘huh?’ everytime I see it, which is why I love it.

I read that as “I’m seeing things and I want it to stop.” I can’t say I have a head-scratcher of my own, I probably tend to make up an answer for it, even if it doesn’t fit completely.
